The father of African/American history Dr. Carter G. Woodson wrote; “
If we can finally succeed in translating the idea of leadership into that of service, we may soon find it possible to lift the Negro to a higher level. Under leadership we have come into the ghetto; by service within the ranks we may work our way out of it...Under leadership we have been made to despise our own possibilities and to develop into parasites; by service we may prove sufficient unto the task of self-development and contribute our part to modern culture."

reeting from me Anthony “Amp” Elmore and my wife Bogalech Elmore, we invite everyone to come to our home at 1035 Semmes in Memphis, Tennessee and participate in some of our 2008 African/American history programs. You cannot imagine the joy and honor it is to be a service to our community engaging in culture, history and more important human relations.
Bogalech and I never meet strangers, we literally talk to those who are considered the highest of the high and those considered the lowest of the low. We try to motivate and encourage and make a difference in our community. The only problem you will get out of us is our talking your heads off about culture, history and art.
In Ethiopia and other parts of Africa food is traditionally eaten with your hands and it is cultural shocks watching others eat with bare hands in the fact that this goes against our cultural values. Many things that we do go against our cultural values as we have opened our home up to the public to give those in our culture a sense of the purity and love of Africa.
Those who have never had African food are invited to contact us this month for additional dates we may add to share African food. If you are a rice and fish lover you will die enjoying African rice and whole tilapia fish. Bogalech makes the absolute best Greens in the world and she has over 12 different ways of preparing collard greens that those in America have never experienced.
Regarding our policy; our policy is to share and open up. Just feel free to communicate with us. Our programs are not funded and we have no organizational staff so please keep this in mind, other wise welcome…….!!!!!
